Xinjiang's Alataw Pass reports growing China-Europe freight train trips

Alataw Pass, a major rail port in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, handled 3,561 China-Europe freight train trips in the first seven months of this year, said local railway authorities.



The figure represents a 35.09 percent increase compared to the same period last year.



The trains transported about 2.7 million tonnes of cargo through these trips, up 47.8 percent year on year.



At present, 50 routes pass through this port connecting more than 20 countries including Germany, Poland, Belgium and Russia, with the transportation of more than 200 types of goods.
